The contractor working on the Princess Town road in the Ahanta West District Messers Justmoh Constructions has assured the road will be nearly completed by the end of this year.
According to him the rehabilitation works have already advanced. The rehabilitation works on the Princess Town road has been suspended for a while. Reasons for the suspension are not known.
Motorists plying the road complained that now the road has become worse off as it has become very muddy.
They report passengers sometimes have to cut leaves, wooden boards and spread them on certain portions before they can move.
Following a barrage of complaints and subsequent discussion between the roads ministry and the contractor occasioned by the efforts of the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, Ebenezer Kojo Kum, work will resume on the road.
The MP and the contractor yesterday undertook an inspection tour of the road. It was revealed that the culvert and drainage works are about 80 percent complete.
Chief Executive Officer of Justmoh Constructions Justice Amoh indicated currently the weather will not permit brisk working.
But while he waits for the weather to get better, he assured the MP he will use the period to re-mobilize and stockpile.
Member of Parliament Lawyer Kojo Kum indicated he together with the contractor have identified some trouble spots on the road that will be addressed immediately. He assured he will personally see to it that the work commences and continues till it is completed.
