Acting President of the Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Council, Nana Kwadwo Twum is appealing to the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the Inspector General of Police David Asante-Apeatu, to as a matter of concern, deploy adequate police personnel to the traditional area for the upcoming outdooring ceremony for the new paramount chief for the area, Nana Danso II.
Nana Kwadwo Twum was however hesitant to provide reasons to justify his request, but maintained that the security presence was necessary.
“I’m on behalf of the people and the traditional area, appealing to the President Nana Addo Dankwa, the IGP to enhance security at the outdooring of the new chief to lead the traditional area. We need our chief for development”, he mentioned.
Nana Danso II succeeds the late Paramount Chief Odeneho Gyapong Ababio. The outdooring of Nana Danso II is however not determined by the traditional council.
Nana Kwadwo Twum indicated that “the outdooring ceremony was postponed last year to allow the Electoral Commission and effect the referendum for the creation of the Western North Region. Upon a directive by the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality, the outdooring ceremony was withheld”
