Customers of “Bankrupt” Western Rural Bank to take legal action over non-refunded investments

Over fifty clients of the Western Rural Bank Limited are contemplating legal action over the non-payment of their returns on investments, savings and other transactions they had with the bank.

The clients, mainly artisans at the Fijai Truck Station, stormed the studios of Skyy Power Fm this morning’s to amass support from respective customers of Western Rural Bank, to seek mediation to their defaulted payment of entitlements by the company.

Western Rural Bank Limited, which nearly suffered bankruptcy in 2016, has been in the news for the non-payment and refund of savings and other investments to their clients.

Spokesperson to the group, Victor Antwi says, the bank owes them to a tune of GH40,000. He mentioned they will launch an official complaint with the mother bank; Apex Bank for redress, and if that fails, he adds, a court action will be instituted against the bank.

He urged all customers to join arms to their course. A meeting has been scheduled for Friday, 9 March, 2018 at Fijai truck Station, to collate views and concerns on the intended action.
