Chief Executive Officer for the Public Procurement Authority, Mr Adjenim Boateng Adjei has urged the public to disregard publications of some eight agencies, including the Auditor General whom are reported to have caused infractions in their procurement processes. According to him, these reports are untrue, adding the authority is yet to carry out an audit of these agencies.
“It has been misreported in the ones that you find in the papers today. Those ones are new list of entities that we are conducting audit”, he noted.
In an exclusive interview with Skyy News’ Abraham Mensah, the CEO mentioned the report submitted to the Attorney General and Economic and Organised Crime Office excludes names of agencies that have been publicized. He clarified that the authority has only submitted reports on DOVSU, National Petroleum Authority, National Lotteries Authority, National Communications Authority, Ghana Water Company Ltd, Ministry of Local Government, Ghana Airport Authority and the Electoral Commission to the AG and EOCO for further investigations and possibly prosecution.
Mr Boateng Adjei revealed that an audited report of the Electricity Company of Ghana) ECG is yet to be completed.
“The eight are the reports that we’ve already compiled and submitted to the AG, and the ninth one- ECG, which we hope will be completed very soon”, he said.
Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei was however unwilling to share details of the said infractions caused by the agencies.
“Because that we have sent the report to the Auditor General we are not discussing the details with anybody”, he emphasised.
