Dreams Football Club is protesting against the television schedules for their games against Ashgold and Dwarfs FC. Speaking on Skyy Sports Show on Skyy 93.5FM in Takoradi, the Director of Communications of the club, Henry Asante-Twum said, they have officially protested to the Premier League Board on their fixtures for week fourteen and fifteen of the first round of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
“Per the TV schedule sent to us, we travel to Obuasi to play Ashgold on Thursday, and instead of returning to Dawu, we rather have travel to Kumasi to play Dwarfs on Saturday, meaning we have only one day rest; how is that possible”, he asked.
The Ghana League Clubs Association, the welfare body of the clubs, has also kicked against this arrangement citing similar reasons. StarTimes have acquired all media rights of the Ghana Premier League, the Gala, the National Division One League, the MTN FA Cup, the Ghana Women’s League and the Ghana Juvenile League for the next 10 years all worth $17,950,000 for the next 10 years
“We have already raised the issues and I am sure that PLB and StarTimes will rectify it”, he told host, Oti-Asirifi.
Currently, Dreams football club lies second on a sixteen team league with seventeen points, from the ten matches played so far.
