Referee Samuel Sukah has defended his decision of awarding a penalty in last Sunday’s Super Clash between Hearts of oak and Asante Kotoko in the Premier League.
The Referee pointed to the spot for a penalty for the Phobians on 74th minutes after Ahmed Adams was believed to have hit the ball with his hands in the 18 yard box.
In a radio interview, Samuel Sukah said he took the right decision and can’t understand why people call it a dubious penalty.
According to him, he was standing a few meters away from the scene, so why would he cheat any of the two sides.
“I was very close to the scene, so why would I cheat any of the sides, especially when I know what it entails when it comes to games between the two teams. The defender dived and the ball struck his arm,” he said.
Samuel Sukah who is also an immigration officer said, he is a Christian and his religion forbids cheating, hence he will not do that.
Untill their defeat to Hearts of Oak, Kotoko had gone unbeaten winning 5 and drawing 2 in their last two matches.
