Lecturers of the Ghana Technological University College (GTUC) have embarked on an indefinite strike action to press home their demands for outstanding payments and allowances owed by the institution. In a letter signed by the Secretary for the Ghana Technological University College Lecturers Association (GTUCLA) Bernard Appiah- Kubi, and addressed to the Internal Management Committee (IMC) of the university, indicated management fail to honour certain conditions stipulated in an earlier engagement on March 23, 2018.
Per that meeting, the statement said, GTUCLA warned faculty will suspend all academic activities, including and particularly, submission of end of semester examination questions and undergraduate project supervision from April 6th, 2018.
The association on Monday 9 April, 2018 held an emergency meeting and unanimously voted to affirm the decision, after the expiration of the ultimatum.
Mr Appiah – Kubi prayed management responds to their conditions as urgently as possible to avert a continued impase.
