Member of Parliament for Ahanta West Constituency, Ebenezer Kojo Kum has disclosed that some effort is being taken to secure some medi-tech facilities for the Hema Dekyi Hospital in the Upper Dixcove traditional area.
The facilities, according to the Hon. Kojo Kum would include a chemistry analyzer and hematology analyzer to assist in medical diagnosis for patients in the hospital.
He added that letters of request and invoices on these facilities have been submitted to the GNPC Foundation to help procure the equipment for the hospital.
“I have also written a letter and attach the invoices to the GNPC Foundation for the procurement of a Chemistry Analyzer and Hematology Analyzer for use at the hospital. During one of my visits to the hospital, I was informed that they didn’t have these two equipment and as a result of that any time they needed to do laboratory investigations the patient had to be referred to either Agona Nkwanta or Takoradi”, he explained.
“I am very certain that GNPC will rise to the occasion and provide them with these equipment”, he confirmed.
Hon. Ebenezer Kojo Kum mentioned that the Atwonwa village through the MP’s Health Fund have been provided with a CHIPs compound to provide basic medical care. He added that other interventions are underway to complement existing health facilities in the municipality.
“Currently, Beaho people have acquired a parcel of land, they have done the drawings. I’m going to use my health fund and some other funds for this project because this year the health fund was just about GH 65,000. Obviously this project is in excess of about GH100,000. So we will see how well we could support it beyond the health fund”, Hon. Kojo Kum added.
