A protest by the Mpohor commercial drivers against the dilapidated nature of the main road linking Mpohor and Apowa in the western region on Monday morning left hundreds of commuters stranded.
The protesters, parked their vehicles and refused to pick passengers. However, other vehicles were allowed to pass without any intimidations. The drivers, according to reports, are not happy with the current state of the road. They complain of potholes which is resulting in the damage of their vehicles.
They took advantage of the protest to, on their own initiative, fill some of the potholes with sand to aid their smooth movement on the road.
