The Nasara coordinator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, has contended that the party is unfazed by the new breed of National Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC.) Mr Haruna Futa believes these executives are no competitors to the NPP’s.
Speaking to Skyy News’ Eric Gyetuah in an interview during the celebration of mawled; the birthday of the holy prophet Muhammed in Sekondi, the national coordinator boasted that the new executives do not have the political prowess to oust the ruling NPP from government.
“They have elected leaders they think is good for them but there is no way you can compare the experience of our chairman Blay to Ofosu Ampofo, Sammy Awuku is far better than Joshuah Akamba and John Boadu have a better understanding of issues than Johnson Asiedu Nketsia, he is no more relevant in Ghana politics his times are past. So my brother their team is nowhere a match to any of us lets wait and see what happens in 2020 we are going to silence them. Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa noted.
Delegates of the NDC elected new national executives to steer the affairs of the party ahead of the 2020 general elections last Sunday. A total of 9,000 party delegates elected the party’s new executives out of the many aspirants at the NDC’s 9th national delegates’ congress. Some of the aspirants lost their positions while others were maintained. Former minister for rural development Samuel Ofosu Ampofo was elected National Chairman, whilst Mr. Johson Asiedu Nketsia maintain his general secretary position. Mr. Joshua Akamba grabbed the national organizer position whilst Sammy Gyamfi was elected national communications officer of the party.
