National Service Personnel are being entreated to exercise restraint as the secretariat works at releasing their monthly allowance. Aside service personnel who are working with private organisations, all other personnel have not been paid their allowances for the month of September.
Commenting on the issue, Western Region Director for the National Service Secretariate, Okatakyie Amankwa Afrifa says such delays must be expected.
He stressed that service personnel who failed to register and verify their e-zwich account with the secretariat in the early weeks of September this year would not receive their allowances.
“Anybody who to register after the 20th of September would not get his or her allowance for September. And September being the first month of the service year, it is normal that the allowances will delay because we are using a different approach to how we pay them”, he mentioned.
Mr Amankwa Afrifa indicated the secretariat are still validating signatures of Heads of Human Resource or supervisors at the various user agencies as indicated on personnel duty forms. He noted an audit will be taken alongside on personnel’s particulars before the allowances are released.
“It is now that we are going to verify that the signature and names of the supervisors on the forms are just those authorized to endorse these forms. We don’t entertain different signatures from one institution”, he added.
He is hopeful the exercise would end soon or possibly in this month.
