Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, Ebenezer Kojo Kum hinted that the newly appointed Regional Ministers for the Western and Western North Regions would be given an unquestionable endorsement during their vetting. According to him, despite the political differences among parliamentarians in the demarcated regions, there exist some consensus for this decision of promoting regional development.
He spoke to Skyy News’ Portia Cudjoe on this during the 62nd Independence Day celebration at Agona Nkwanta yesterday.
“We have a Western Region caucus…fortunately and unfortunately, comprising NPP MPs and another comprising NDC MPs. And for our part, the caucus has always been united, and so there’s no way that any of us will turn his back against them. Except something takes one of us out, you will see that all of us will support this”, he explained.
Member of Parliament for Takoradi, and Deputy Minister of Aviation, Kobby Otchere Darko Mensah has been appointed as the new Regional Minister for Western Region, whiles Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, and Deputy Minister of Health, Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu appointed as the Regional Minister for Western North Region, and he will be deputised by Alex Tetteh Djornobuah; Member of Parliament for Sefwi Akontombra.
Mr Kojo Kum is excited that the aspirations of people in the region has materialized. He is hopeful the needed development is executed to improve the lives of the people.
“I am excited because at least, in our region now, there are two new ones and so development in the regions will be spread and cut across all, so that everybody will have a fair share of developmental projects and others you could think of” Mr Kojo Kum maintained.
