A group of aggrieved youth in the Aboadze-Abuesi communities of the Shama district of the Western Region have expressed anger at the District Chief Executive for the area, Mr. Josph Amoah, over what they describe as “a deliberate attempt” to deprive the youth of the two communities of being employed by the companies operating the area.
At a press conference organized by the youth group at the Aboadze community center, Leader of the group, Kofi Ampong indicated that due to the proximity of the two communities to the power enclave, a 40% employment quota has been allocated to them, but this has not been fulfilled.
The community, according to them, have both skilled and unskilled labor, however they have mostly been offered casual miniature jobs. They are unhappy with the District Chief Executive for his idea of making the district assembly the center for employment within the power enclave. According to them, the DCE is thwarting the efforts of the President through his actions, and therefore must be relieved of his post.
Below is the the audio of the Presser.
