Traders at “Sekondi Tuesday Market” want another trading day

Scores of traders patronizing the Tuesday Market at Sekondi are suggesting to city authorities to add Saturday to the trading days. They say once the Sekondi – Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly is decongesting the Takoradi Market Circle opportunity should be given to the affected traders to keep trading at other conducive places.

As part of activities to revive Sekondi city authorities entered into a “gentlemen’s agreement” for traders to sell along the beach front close to the Sekondi Market. For the past year Tuesdays have been devoted for such trading activities. Traders from all over the metropolis troop to Sekondi each Tuesday to trade. Some have suggested that the move has largely achieved its aim. Now the traders want another day to sell.
