The Chinese national who is reported to have shot and killed Godwin Quaicoe, a 30-year old resident of Wassa Akropong was on Wednesday October 10, 2017 remanded into police custody by a Takoradi District court.
Police Inspector Bernard Paa Ahinsan, who represented the state, prayed the court, presided over by His Worship, Thomas K. Ofidie, to remand the accused into police custody, to allow for more time to further investigate the case.
The Chinese, Jiang Gen Hai, allegedly shot and killed Godwin Quaicoe also known as Nana Boah, who had accompanied his friend, a plumber, to a Chinese casino at Wassa Akropong to demand his monies after working for him.
The deceased is believed to have been shot and killed instantly by Jiang Gen Hai after an argument ensued over his refusal to pay for the exact amount he had earlier agreed to pay.
Police say the Chinese will be charged for murder, and he is to reappear in court on 26th October, 2017.
