We’re living in fear: Nigerians resident in Tadi cry out

Dozens of Nigerians domicile in Sekondi Takoradi have been thrown into a state of despair and apprehension after being robbed at their work stations by some unknown persons.

Spokesperson for the Nigerian petty traders in Takoradi Kenneth Itam told Skyy News, they were robbed yesterday morning in their various shops in the city by some suspected criminals believed to be residents of the Amanful Township, a suburb in Takoradi.

Kenneth Itam said the Nigerian community is living in fear because the police have failed to arrest the suspected criminals and to an extent protect them a potential xenophobic attacks, arising from the kidnapping cases that has bedeviled the city.

They are therefore calling on government to intervene to avert bloodshed or reprisals.

Several attempts to get the Takoradi Police Commander, Chief Supt Peter Ofori Donkor to comment on the matter was unsuccessful as Skyy News gathers, he has been hit by a police reshuffle recently.
